Tango Discovery Session
7th December 2004

Hitachi Executive Briefing Centre
Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire

Tango is normally run over 1½ to 2 days, but we ran the key elements of the first day only. We covered a range of knowledge business issues including the impact and significance of intangible assets, their relationship with Balanced Scorecard, and their importance in driving investor confidence. We ran three years of the simulation, including analysis of key performance Indicators, managing the tangible as well as intangible asset base and the development of human capital.

Five teams participated, each with a mix of participants, end users and consultants. We also allocated a 'Tango Coach' to each team - this helped us to continually assess the learning outcomes and was well received by all participants.

Outcomes
The feedback has been very positive. Tango really does give people a real insight into the strategic issues of running a knowledge business and opens dialogue around intangibles and human capital management.
